Context
The Brazilian Government launched in 2017 the process for modeling the concession round for the expansion, operation and maintenance of 13 federal airports.
Description
The studies and projects developed by INFRAWAY, together with partner companies, were selected by the Brazilian Government to support the bidding documents for the concession of the 13 airports, which were divided into 3 Clusters.

Airport:
- Northeast cluster: Recife-PE, Maceió-AL, Aracaju-SE, João Pessoa-PB, Juazeiro do Norte-CE, Campina Grande-PB;
- Central-West cluster: Cuiabá-MT, Rondonópolis-MT, Alta Floresta-MT, Sinop-MT, Barra do Garças-MT;
- Southeast cluster: Vitória-ES e Macaé-RJ.
Our Role
INFRAWAY was responsible for the development of engineering and related studies and technical coordination of the group. The engineering study evaluated the capacity of the existing infrastructure and defined future needs for all facilities at the airport, including runway, taxiways, apron, passenger terminal, firefighting, fuel farms and access roads. The investment phases for expansion were defined based on the demand forecast in order to maintain an adequate level of service in the airport components. In addition, INFRAWAY technically support and advised the Federal Government throughout the process of structuring the concession, from the preparation of feasibility studies to the auction.

- Recife (PE): 2,8 million passengers per year (pax/year) e 63,2 thousand movements per year (mov/year).
- Maceió (AL): 2 million passengers per year (pax/year) e 15,2 thousand movements per year (mov/year).
- Aracaju (SE): 1,2 million passengers per year (pax/year) e 9, thousand movements per year (mov/year).
- João Pessoa (PB): 1,3 million passengers per year (pax/year) e 10,7 thousand movements per year (mov/year).
- Juazeiro do Norte (CE): 533,1 thousand passengers per year (pax/year) e 5,8 thousand movements per year (mov/year).
- Campina Grande (PB): 150 mil passengers per year (pax/year) e 1,9 thousand movements per year (mov/year).
Central-West cluster:
- Cuiabá (MT):2,8 million passengers per year (pax/year) e 27,6 thousand movements per year (mov/year);
- Rondonópolis (MT): 51,6 thousand passengers per year (pax/year) e 1,1 thousand movements per year (mov/year);
- Alta Floresta (MT): 64,9 thousand passengers per year (pax/year) e 715 thousand movements per year (mov/year);
- Sinop (MT): 144,2 mil passengers per year pax/year) e 1,8 thousand movements per year (mov/year);
- Barra do Garças (MT): 21,7 thousand passengers per year (pax/year) e 548 thousand movements per year (mov/year).
Block Southeast:
- Vitória (ES): 2,9 million passengers per year (pax/year) e 26,3 thousand movements per year (mov/year);
- Macaé (RJ): 20,5 thousand passengers per year (pax/year) e 717 movements per year (mov/year).
